Digital Humanities are called all those activities that humanists are engaged in when using digital media or computational techniques for teaching, the creating of digital media, such as annotated e-books, or in the analysis of digitized material.

The purpose of the course is to give the participants an understanding of what 'Digital Humanities' is about, and to motivate them to use this kind of approach to research and problem solving in their future activities.
Participants should gain an overview over the wide range of research activities that are conducted under this umbrella term and what the tools are that can be used in this context. Students are also motivated to think about what their skills and interests are and how these match with research activities in Digital Humanities.
