In Public Economics why and how the public sector intervenes into the private economy. However, from what should be done to what will be done, every policy has to go through a process of decision-making and implementation, in which many individuals, possibly acting on their own interests, are involved. The objective of this course is to analyze this process with the economic tools we are equipped to learn what determines the outcome of this process, how good the outcome is, and even how a better outcome can be obtained by reform of the process. Since we are economists, we’d like to look at politics from the perspective of economics after all.
